Congo: Congo Basin
built 648 days ago
The Congo Basin's ecosystems have not yet suffered the damage observed in many other regions. However, its natural resources are under increasing pressure from a variety of forces, including the commercial bushmeat trade, logging, oil and mineral extraction and population growth. Unless the trend of accelerating degradation is reversed, the Congo Basin could face the same destruction as that seen in parts of West Africa or South-East Asia.
