Commercial printing mainly applies the offset printing method which is ... known as offset lithography. This process allows the printer to utilize many colors for producing sharper and graphics more accurate in colors than desktop printing which utilizes only four basic ink colors: CMYK. Dots of cyan (blue), magenta (red), yellow, and black. One other advantage of commercial printing over desktop publishing is in the use of spot colors. Spot colors are made from premixed inks and you can again have metallic and florescent effects to enhance your output.
