An Elite combat form in Halo 3. A Combat Form is not a natural organism, but rather a mutated host infected by a parasitic Flood Super Cell implanted by an Infection Form. Successful creation of a combat form requries a host with sufficient biomass and calcium store. After mutation begins, the infection form attaches with a protruding neural connection that allows it to command the host's nervous system. During the infection process, the host's internal organs are liquefied and the nutrients from them are used to develop the tentacles and other appendages.

Combat!, a breakthrough series that ran from 1962-67 on ABC Television, was a realistic depiction of the exploits of a U.S. Army platoon fighting its way across France during World War II, following D-Day. Realism was the keynote of this series, which starred the late Vic Morrow (Sgt. Chip Saunders) and Rick Jason (Lt. Gil Hanley). Original World War II battle footage was included in some episodes, with stories ranging from straight combat adventure -- to the personal human drama of war -- to occasional lighthearted humorous themes. The series featured a variety of renowned actors in guest starring roles such as James Coburn, Lee Marvin and Robert Duvall.
The World Combat League hosted its first competition for the “Toughest City in America” on Friday at the Denver Coliseum. The four West Coast teams, the Denver Fury, Los Angeles Stars, Texas Dragons, and the Oklahoma Destroyers, battled through 24 fights in front of around 2,500 fight fans.
(The Combat Logo) Combat allows you to develop CORBA clients and servers with the ease and speed Tcl is known for. On the client side, one possibility is to use Tcl scripts as a powerful testing facility for your CORBA servers. But then, you're only limited by your imagination. Short scripts that automate simple tasks are just as possible as large Tk-based GUIs. With Tcl as a glue language, you can ... use Combat in parallel with other Tcl extensions like database access (pgtcl, oratcl), or even combine it with your own custom extensions. With any portability issues hidden by Tcl and the ORB, your CORBA applications will run on all platforms.

In the initial stage of a Flood Outbreak, the Feral Stage, Combat Forms communicate using pheromones and have one instinctual behavior: to secure new hosts to strengthen the local Gravemind. Once a sufficient store of biomass is available for the Flood to enter the Coordinated Stage and begin forming Pure Form Flood, the Combat forms are used either as defensive units or calcium/biomass reserves.

(Banking Demo) The Tcl version of Combat includes an ORB written in pure Tcl, so no external ORB is needed. No compilation is necessary. Therefore, Combat/Tcl can run wherever Tcl is available, which is a much broader range of platforms than those supported by any ORB. Also, the footprint is minimal. Standalone servers and clients can have a size of less than 1 Megabyte (with Tcl and all but the C library statically linked) - see below for a proof of that statement. And these are clients and servers that can actually do something, because as you add more features, scripts only grow very little.
