The Colonization of Venus was another project aided by Dr. Marlene VanGoethem. It logically followed after the economic stabilization of the Martian colonies. Like before, 5,000 men and 5,000 women become the first colony on Venus. 60% came from third world countries and 40% came from developed countries. The third world people were given special treatment like on Mars until they become educated and wealthy 200 years after the establishment of the colonies on Venus.

Colonization of Mucosal Surfaces is a state-of-the-art presentation of the opposing evolutionary forces that ultimately determine the health of host organisms and survival of pathogenic microorganisms. As mammalian defenses evolve to protect against infection, pathogens are simultaneously evolving to circumvent new barriers and gain access to valuable host nutrients and energy. Written by experts in the field, this new volume is an in-depth examination of the complex ecosystems of the mammalian mucosa and the successful adaptations of microorganisms that enable them to effectively colonize these surfaces.
MobyGames Home In Colonization, you have the chance to change history. As a colonial power, you decide the policies, you make the plans, you choose what is important and what is insignificant. Finally, you will be called upon to decide when to declare independence from your mother country.

The Colonization experience begins in 1492. The player is asked to select one of the four world powers (England, France, The Netherlands, or Spain). The journey begins with two units traveling on a ship to the new world; as the ship moves into the unknown, the map is revealed. Subsequently, the new world is discovered, the Indians are met, a colony is built, colonists begin to change the land to be more productive, the ship is sent back to Europe to collect more colonists, any superfluous items are sold and the exploration of the world begins. The game revolves around harvesting food and manufacturing and trading goods. Resources gleaned from the land are converted into commodities and either used or sold (usually back in Europe).
If the failure of the French at Waterloo can be seen as a day when "Napoleon was not being Napoleon," Colonization can likewise be remembered as the "Sid Meier game that wasn't." By all accounts, Sid's main contributions to the project came in the early concept stage and included some polishing just prior to the game being shipped. Most of the design work was done by the relatively unknown Brian Reynolds (who would later achieve fame for his work on Sid Meier's Civilization II) and Jeff Briggs. Most computer gamers know Briggs as a fine composer of game soundtracks (notably Pirates! and Civilization II), but Jeff ... had extensive design and development experience from his days at West End Games (board games and paper role-playing games).

Colonization was originally released for the Personal Computer (PC) in the DOS (Disk Operating System) environment, but was ported ported and re-released in 1995 for Microsoft Corporation's Windows OS ... for the PC. A port for the Amiga console and the Macintosh platform followed later that same year.
