Brighton Collectibles stores licensed and operated by the Borsack family are dedicated to the southern Nevada community. The Borsacks have lived in southern Nevada since 1908 and operate six Brighton Collectibles locations in the valley.
This year's report ... revealed that specialty collectibles stores were closing their doors or sharply cutting back on the collectible lines they carried. "In 1999 there was a 19% decline in the total number of collectibles specialty retailers, down from 12,007 in 1998 to 9,778 nationwide. As a result, collectibles marketers can expect to see a continued decline in viable specialty retail outlets for their products,'' Danziger explained.
Washington-area stores are usually open daily from 10am to 5 or 6pm Monday through Saturday, with one late night (usually Thurs) when hours extend to 9pm. One exception is the downtown Hecht's department store, in the heart of Penn Quarter, which actually stays open later on weekend nights, Friday until 10pm and Saturday until 9pm. Sunday hours for area stores tend to vary, with some stores opting not to open at all and others with shorter hours of noon to 5 or 6pm. Again, there are exceptions: many Georgetown shops stay open Sunday evenings; the malls are open late nightly; and antiques stores and art galleries tend to keep their own hours. Be safe and call ahead if there's a store you really want to get to.

Remember that stores are businesses, and businesses exist to make money. A successful store owner fully understands the value of his or her wares, and specialty shops like antique stores are no exception. Assume the store owner or employee is more knowledgeable than you about most items in the store. Understand that you will usually find highly priced items in stores.
[A]t live games, stadium stores often hike up the prices. Internet stores offer the same merchandise that arena souvenir shops sell, but often at lower prices, saving people several dollars per item. Things like coffee mugs, water bottles, watches, and apparel that feature team logos remind people of their favorite teams throughout their days.
