Each image in the print campaign features one of the real life girls in Mudd clothing and accessories, her story and a quote that expresses her personal aspiration to make a difference in the world. Among them is 15-year-old Hurricane Katrina survivor Jerell, whose copy reads, "This fall, I will rebuild my city." Another of the Mudd girls is Alandrea, a 17- year-old hip-hop artist who produced a dance performance with the funds from the campaign to raise more than $8,000 for the Polaris Project, which supports victims of human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Her message for the campaign is "This fall, I will set someone free."

In many regions of the world, national costumes and styles in clothing and ornament declare membership in a certain village, caste, religion, etc. A Scotsman declares his clan with his tartan. A Muslim woman might wear a hijab to express her religion. A male Sikh may display his religious affiliation by wearing a turban and other traditional clothing. A French peasant woman may identify her village with her cap or coif.

Used, unwearable clothing was once used for quilts, rag, rugs, bandages, and many other household uses. It could ... be recycled into paper. Now it is usually thrown away. Used but still wearable clothing can be sold at consignment shops, flea markets, online auction, or donated to charity. Charities usually skim the best of the clothing to sell in their own thrift stores and sell the rest to merchants, who bale it up and ship it to Third World countries, where vendors bid for the bales, then sell the used clothing.
