Svelte supermodel Claudia Schiffer may not have been convincing as a restaurateur (remember the Fashion Café?) or a graduate student (in the 2000 film ''Black and White''). Now... she'll try a new real-life role: mom. The 32-year-old Schiffer gave birth to a 7-pound boy, by husband Matthew Vaughn, on Thursday at London's Portland Hospital. ''Both parents are utterly thrilled at the birth of their first child, and both mother and baby are doing very well," Schiffer's spokeswoman told Reuters. "The couple have yet to decide on a name for the baby but all are expected to return home in a few days.''

It would seem that supermodel Claudia Schiffer and movie man Matthew Vaughn like to spend a little time at the craps table when they’re in the US. The couple have recently paid $2.5m for a condo in a new Las Vegas development next door to the Hard Rock Hotel.
