Claire Forlani: Meet Joe Black
built 395 days ago
Claire Forlani is an amazing actress. I first saw her strutt her stuff in 'Meet Joe Black', which is one of my favourite movies of all time, mainly because of the detail in the script and scenery and the brilliant chemistry between all the actors, each part was played by just the right person.

British lovely Claire Forlani first broke into Hollywood playing Brad Pitt’s love interest in the drama “Meet Joe Black”, and she hasn’t slowed down since. After starring turns as an ass-kicking cop alongside Jackie Chan in “The Medallion”, Claire has dabbled in TV by joining the cast of “CSI: Miami”. Which isn’t a surprise, as TV production has become so expensive and slick nowadays that they’re almost as good, if not sometimes better, than movies.

Claire Forlani moved to the United States from her native London, and has made a name for herself in Hollywood. Well-known for her performance opposite Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins in Universal Pictures' Meet Joe Black, Forlani will next be seen in several feature films this year, including Highbinders, opposite Jackie Chan; Triggerman with Pete Postelwaite and Donnie Wahlberg and The Limit, opposite Lauren Bacall. She recently starred in The Pentagon Papers, opposite James Spader, for F/X, as well as MGM's computer thriller Antitrust directed by Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors), starring opposite Tim Robbins, Ryan Phillipe and Rachel Leigh Cook, and the Miramax feature Boys and Girls, opposite Freddie Prinze Jr.

Claire Forlani was offered the role of Lois. She was in Basquiat and is in Brad Pitt's next film (Meet Joe Black). She had a scheduling conflict and had to pass. A rumor around town says Burton may cast (his g.f.) Lisa Marie in this part, or possibly, Holly Hunter (Burton is a huge Raising Arizona fan). Jon Peters really has no say in the casting, since he trusts Burton.

In 1996, Forlani appeared in a supporting role in the blockbuster action movie The Rock. She continued to appear in both widely released and smaller-budget films. Forlani was cast in the 1998 film, Deep Rising, but due to creative conflicts left the set during the first few days of filming; that same year, her starring role in Meet Joe Black (co-starring Brad Pitt) was Forlani's most financially successful film. Next, she appeared in Antitrust, a thriller that was released in January of 2001 to mixed reviews.
