NOTE: A faculty member may authorize current LSU students to charge materials on his/her faculty ID card by presenting a signed letter to the Head of Circulation designating the students authorized to use the card. The letter will be kept on file and must be renewed each semester. The faculty member is responsible for all materials charged in this manner.

Reserve materials circulate for one hour unless professors determine a different circulation period. An individual may check out three reserve item at a time. Reserve materials may be checked out for overnight 15 minutes prior to closing time and are due one-half-hour after opening. Three reserve items may be checked out for overnight. Reserve materials are available on first-come, first-served basis.

Any circulation material may be placed on request either by phone, in person, or online. You will be contacted when the material becomes available. A week is allowed for pick-up of material that is being held at the library. If the material is not borrowed during this period, it moves to the next name on the request list.

If you need a book checked out to another borrower, you may use the Recall/hold function in the online catalog or fill out a paper request form at the Circulation Desk. All library material is subject to recall after two weeks when needed by another patron.
