Circulation provides UTEP students, faculty, staff and members of the community access to information, resources, and responsive service. General staff and supervisors are present at all times to assist with patron requests for service or information. Stack maintenance and Reserves are an integral part of Circulation.

Circulation staff provides information on how users can borrow library materials from the NCSU Libraries as well as from other libraries. They can explain loan, recall, and fine policies, provide borrowing privileges to students, faculty and staff from NCSU and from institutions with which NCSU has reciprocal borrowing privileges, and search for books that cannot be found in the bookstacks. The Circulation Department is located on the first floor of the Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center. The mission of the Circulation Department is to provide high quality services to NSU and Broward Community (NSU Staff, faculty, NSU Alumni, students, Seflin members and Broward Residents.

Cathy brings more than 20 years of circulation experience to CSI. A programmer for the original Lighthouse model in the late 1980's, Cathy's career has spanned both magazine planning and circulation management. She was a Circulation Manager at IDG for several of their trade publications (Digital News, Federal Computer Week, and CIO) and was the Circulation Director for New England Business Magazine. As Planning Director at Primedia, she was responsible for overseeing a staff of 20 planners responsible for 140 special interest magazines. As a circulation modeling consultant, her clients have included Time Inc., TV Guide and American Express Publishing. In addition to her own consulting practice, Cathy was a support consultant for the MPMW Model for over eight years.

The Circulation Department provides access to the collections of the Sibley Music Library. Circulation staff maintain patron records, check materials out and in, monitor overdue and lost items, collect overdue charges, reshelve materials and maintain the stacks in good order, search for and hold requested items, provide paper for and help with photocopying equipment, and provide library security during all opening hours.

Students, faculty and staff may purchase the Microsoft software products at the Circulation and Reserves department from Monday - Thursday after 5:00pm and during regular library weekend hours. The Circulation and Reserves department is located in the 1st floor of the library. Also the Information Resources department provides these services from Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
