Description: The Circulation Desk ((515) 294-3961), located at the main entrance to Parks Library, is a primary service point in the ISU Library system. The desk is staffed all hours the Parks Library is open, and provides a variety of services, described below. Organizationally, the Circulation Desk is part of the ISU Library's Research and Access Division. Circulation is the Library department that checks out and renews books and maintains your borrowing record. In addition, current Duke Law students may borrow Reserve materials for overnight use, one hour before the Circulation Desk closes. Overnight loans are due by 9:00 AM the following day. Audiovisual materials may be borrowed for a twenty-four hour period.

The Circulation Desk manages all functions related to the loan of materials, including charging and discharging books and other items. The desk accepts payment for overdue fines as well as charges that are incurred elsewhere in the library, such as Interlibrary Loan fees, Special Collection copies, etc.

Circulation Staff may waive or forgive library fines based on individual circumstances. Borrowers may appeal a fine in person at the Circulation Desk that owns the overdue or lost materials. Circulation staff will review the request and inform the person of the outcome.

The Circulation Desk is located on the left side of the library atrium, just inside the front doors. Staff at the desk will help you check out books or other materials, including items requested through Interlibrary Loan.
