Cindy Williams was born Cynthia Williams in Van Nuys, California on August 22, 1947. The Leo is 5'4" and, during her first years on "Laverne & Shirley" (1976), weighed a dainty 105 lbs. The brown haired, blue-eyed female was born the daughter of Francesca Bellini and Beachard Williams. Her family was very poor (her father was an electronic technician), and Cindy grew up not in poverty, but close. She has one sister, Carol Ann Williams, and a step-brother, Jim. As a child, she dreamed of being an actress.

Upon graduating from LA City College, petite brunette actress Cindy Williams sought out and found stage and film work, supporting herself as a waitress between engagements. In films from 1970, Williams earned critical and popular plaudits for her work as Ron Howard's girlfriend in American Graffiti (1973) and as a highly unlikely murderess in The Conversation (1974). Her musical comedy prowess was shown off to excellent advantage in the better-than-it-sounds The First Nudie Musical (1975). In 1976, Williams signed to star as eternally optimistic brewery worker Shirley Feeney in the blue-collar sitcom Laverne and Shirley (1976-83). The series proved to be a smash, winning its Tuesday night timeslot for several seasons. Married to comedian Bill Hudson, Williams became pregnant in 1982, a circumstance that was hastily written into the program.

Cindy Williams has enjoyed the privilege of working with extraordinary directors, including Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas and George Cukor. Though Williams has achieved great success in her film career she is most recognized for her role as "Shirley Feeney" in the historic ABC-TV situation comedy, Laverne and Shirley. Due to overwhelming public response, Williams filmed the Laverne and Shirley Special, paying tribute to the funniest and most poignant moments of this classic television series. The special was a rating success and has spawned the development of a motion picture, which would reunite America's favorite duo. Most recently, while filming recurring roles on the Warner Bros series For Your Love and on the Comedy Central series Strip Mall, Williams starred as "Miss Lynch" in the national tour of Grease.
