Reds Pictures The Cincinnati Reds are a Major League Baseball team based in Cincinnati , Ohio . They are in the Central Division of the National League. The sensational news from the Reds was the selling of the team by Carl Linder, who owned the club since 1981, to a group of investors headed by Cincinnati produce magnate Robert Castellini, Thomas Williams and William Williams, Jr. Under Lindner's possession, Great American Park , home stadium of the reds, was opened in 2003. However, the team has struggled for rankings in current years, they finished last five seasons below .500. The best thing that happened in 2005 season was that Ken Griffey Jr.(.301 35 92) was able to play an intact season without any injury for the first time in over 5 full seasons. Griffey was honored with the Comeback Player of the Year Award for his outstanding efforts. Certain important moves have been made this year in order to earn wins.

Cincinnati Reds Tickets The Cincinnati Reds are one of the most storied franchises in all of Major League Baseball. They are ... the first-ever professional team and now play in the National League Central Division, against such rival teams as the Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago Cubs. They are best known for their championship teams of the 1970s, the Big Red Machine. Those teams were led by Hall of Famers Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, and the controversial Pete Rose. The last championship they won was in 1990, under the management of Lou Piniella.
There was a time back in the 80s when the Cincinnati Reds minor league system had two pitchers named Michael Anthony Smith. They called them “Texas Mike” and “Mississippi Mike.” Sadly, the only year they both appeared in the majors was 1989, when Texas Mike was an Oriole and Mississippi Mike was a Pirate, so unless there’s a spring training or minor league picture from their Reds days, probably no FNOB (or nickname on back) fodder here.
In 2006 the Cincinnati Reds finished their season two games away from .500 and only four games away from winning the NL Central. Knowing that the 2007 NL Central may be just as wide open, this year's Reds will be coming to field every day with a trip the playoffs in their sights. A "small ball" team in every sense of the term, the Reds will look to improve on their glovework and placement hitting to attack their opponents this season. Aaron Harang will be ready to lead the pitching staff and Adam Dunn is set to help the offense start consistently putting runs on the board. With many key components already in place, the Reds 2007 season will come down to execution. Watch Cincinnati LIVE with Reds Tickets.
