Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray used to be human, although not a very good one. When he wasn't happy being a human anymore, he decided to transfer his soul into a Good Guy Doll. He was then given to Andy Barclay for his 6th Birthday and the two quickly became good friends.

One stormy night, Chucky's girlfriend Tiffany finds the remains of the doll. After calmly slitting the throat of the cop she bribed to steal his remains out of the evidence room, Tiffany returns to her trailer and sews Chucky back together. She uses an incantation from a book entitled "Voodoo 4 Dummies" to reanimate Chucky, after which Tiffany learns that the ring she proudly wore for ten years was not actually an engagement ring, but was stolen by Chucky from a wealthy old woman named Vivian Van Pelt. An enraged Tiffany confines Chucky to a playpen which she bought for the baby she wanted to have. After escaping, Chucky electrocutes Tiffany in her own bathtub, and transfers her soul into her bridal doll. Tiffany immediately wants out of the doll body, but Chucky admonishes her that the only way to return to human form is with The Heart of Damballa, a mystical amulet that Chucky was wearing the night he became a doll.

Chucky and Tiffany talk about artificially inseminating Jennifer with Chucky's semen, with Tiffany telling Chucky he'll have to hurry, but that that will be no problem for him. Chucky then tells Tiffany to give him a hand and so she flashes her plastic doll breasts at him. He then looks through a series of magazines featuring scantly clad women on the covers and comments on "lesbos" and the fact that he's "done her." He then comes across a copy of a horror magazine featuring a woman with a gory face and says, "Here we go...come to poppa." He ... tells Tiffany not to let Redman get in Jennifer's pants.

Chucky learns from his former guru (whom he then murders) that he must transfer his soul into the body of the first person to whom he revealed his true identity, or else he will be trapped in the doll forever. Chucky pursues Andy to appropriate his body, but is stopped by Karen and Detective Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon). After being burnt alive by Andy in a fireplace and having his limbs and head severed by gunfire, Chucky finally "dies" with a gunshot to the heart.

Later tying Tilly and her limo driver Stan (as Chucky needs a replacement body because Tiffany killed Redman) to her bed, Tilly promptly goes into labor. After the birth of twin babies Glen and Glenda, Chucky resolves to remain a doll, as it makes him immortal and unique, prompting an alienated Tiffany to leave him. She decides to take Glen with her, enraging Chucky, who hurls his knife at Tilly but the limo driver jumps in the way to save her. Tiffany attacks Chucky with the knife before the police arrive.

Chucky's back. And this time he's got a girlfriend, Tiffany. Their way of having a good time is going on a murder-spree road trip, killing any and everything that gets in their way. Along for the ride are Jade and Jesse, a pair of teens on the run from their uncaring parents. As the body count rises, Jade and Jesse must deal with the consequences of their killer dolls. A campy horror extravaganza.
