Christmas being the time of fun and frolic, has made funny Christmas songs quite popular among kids as well as adults. The actual sentiment behind singing song is to commemorate the birth Of Lord Jesus Christ, who later in his life became the savior of mankind. For such a stupendous cause,the origin of funny Christmas songs in the ancient times is out of context. But, humor is the spice of life. Since contemporary generations added that fun element to it, ancient songs have got a new dimension to it.

The episode of Las Vegas, entitled "White Christmas," features an Elvis soundtrack with six classic songs from SONY BMG's new 23-track release Elvis Christmas (in stores now), a definitive career-spanning collection of holiday songs from Elvis Presley. According to the show's creator, it is thanks entirely to the music that he was permitted to move forward with a holiday show at all. "I've always wanted to do a Christmas show, but I was never allowed to because they can only repeat the show during the holidays," creator Gary Scott Thompson tells TV Guide. Adding the Elvis soundtrack changed all that, he says.

As the song goes, "Merry Christmas" has already "been said many times, many ways." Diana Krall's Christmas Songs is a worthy--though not particularly unique--addition to the holiday catalog. On it, she excels with an approach mastered long ago: elegant delivery that gives extra polish to a very familiar lineup. Some might find her style frosty at times, but that will come as a relief to those who want their carolers to cut through some of the holiday treacle and create a festive, yet grown-up vibe. And Krall does show off her playful side with little, personal touches. In "Winter Wonderland" she promises to "frolic and play the Canadian way," which should draw smiles from her native land.
