Christie Brinkley, 52, filed divorce papers from her husband of 10 years, architect Peter Cook, in New York’s Suffolk County Court earlier this week, E! reports. The couple separated two months ago when Cook, 47, confessed to having an affair with a 19-year-old former employee with his architectural firm.

In the absence of estranged husband Peter Cook (whose despicable affair with Diana Bianchi, 19, left the family in shambles this summer), Mickey Mouse joined the lovely Brinkley and her cute kids in a group hug.

Brinkley and Cook announced their separation on July 11 after 10 years of marriage. The couple has a daughter Sailor, 8. Brinkley has a 20-year old daughter, Alexa Rae, with Joel. She ... has an 11-year old son, Jack, from her brief marriage to Taubman. Cook adopted Jack when he wed Brinkley in 1996. Brinkley called it quits after she found out Cook had had an affair with 18-year old Diana Bianchi whom he hired to work at his architecture firm.

Christie is already trying to protect her kids by taking them away and trying to control their access to computers, radios and newspapers. Her goal is to prevent them from hearing the stories in the news about their father and stepfather, Peter Cook. She must learn how to communicate the bad news directly to her kids. They are smarter than she thinks. They will learn the truth and it is best to learn it directly from her. If she needs help doing so, she should seek help from an expert.

Brinkley filed papers in New York’s Suffolk County earlier this week after separating from Cook in July when it was revealed he had an affair with teenager. Her lawyer, Norman Sheresky, said, "The next step would be for [Brinkley] to serve a complaint and/or for the parties to negotiate an amicable agreement." Brinkley has yet to comment on her separation and impending divorce. This will be Brinkley's fourth divorce. She has previously been married to artist Jean-Francois Allaux, singer Billy Joel, and developer Richard Taubman.
