Chris Isaak: Albums
built 605 days ago
After acquiring a contract with Warner Brothers Records in 1985, Chris Isaak and the band moved through three years and two albums with little success, apart from "Blue Hotel," which was a hit in France. The debut "Silvertone" was raw and diverse, with country blues mingling with conventional folk ballads. The self-titled follow-up saw him hone his style to sophisticated R&B. Throughout he was backed by the excellent moody guitar of Wilsey, whose mimicry of '50s styles is impeccable.

Chris Isaak is so dreamy. With those dazzling Skittle-colored suits and the mass consumption of hair product to put even Uncle Jesse to shame, his latest album is about as good as his sense of style.

One of the coolest guys in music has become the coolest guy on television with "The Chris Isaak Show" on MuchMoreMusic. Now Isaak's first album in four years marks a return to form for the singer-songwriter-guitarist with the smoldering retro-pop vibe.
