Describing his political beliefs as "to the right of Genghis Khan", Chopper only spent 13 months out of prison between the ages of 20 to 38. After he was released, he wrote stories about his life of crime and went on to become Australia's largest selling author; selling in excess of 500,000 books. He appeared on television, wrote columns for men's magazines, created a board game, and starred in a stage show.

He's ... searching for Jimmy, as he wants revenge; Jimmy, meanwhile, is under contract to kill Chopper. Chopper eventually lands in prison again and writes a best-selling book, becoming a cult hero.

'Chopper' Chopper's claim to fame, aside from the most exquisite prison-tattoo collection this side of the McAlester State Penitentiary, appears to be that he survived many murder attempts in prison, some with extraordinary disdain. After bloodily doing in an aborigine inmate – race war infects Australian lockups as well as American, the movie points out – a hit is ordered on him. When it comes, Chopper appears not quite to notice.
Choppermovie.jpg The film ends with Chopper in his prison cell in 1992, watching himself being interviewed on television. He is proud of the interview among those watching with him, but when they leave he goes quiet, and the film ends with Chopper sitting in his cell alone.
