LYCOS RETRIEVER
Chloe: Powers

Throughout the majority of the series, Chloe was thought to be totally powerless. Her computer hacking skills and determined journalistic nature were her primary skills in aiding Clark against various threats, both human and metahuman. When using the technology at Oliver Queen's disposal, Chloe acted as "Watchtower" for Oliver's proto-Justice League, a role very similar to that of computer-savvy Oracle in the comics.

Clark was the only person Chloe told when she discovered her mother was in a mental institution. Clark gained the opportunity to return Chloe's trust when he unwittingly used his super-strength and super-speed right in front of her. Thinking he was a metahuman, Chloe displayed a newfound maturity and discretion and chose to let Clark tell her himself. She kept his secret for months without him knowing. When he was struck with total amnesia, she helped him re-learn all his powers and conceal them from others, but when he got his memory back, Clark did not take the opportunity to confide in Chloe. He saved Chloe once again from a deranged classmate who attempted to recreate a never-ending high school experience.

Though unsettled, Chloe decides not to reveal Clark's secret to anyone. Instead, throughout the fourth season, she drops hints to Clark that she knows of his powers, initially believing Clark to be a meteor freak, rather than an alien. In "Spirit", Chloe witnesses the effect of Kryptonite on Clark when Jonathan Kent uses it to subdue Clark after he is possessed by the spirit of a vengeful student. Chloe pretends to be knocked out and acts as if she knew nothing at all.

On her eighteenth birthday, Chloe was possessed by a 17th Century witch, Madelyn Hibbins. With Lana and Lois, possessed by witches themselves, they joined a wild party and stripped Clark of his powers. When he recovered his powers, all three girls were restored to normal.
