Click here Roadrunner Records' recording artists, Chimaira, have long been fans of Jagermeister and vice versa. The Cleveland-based heavy-metal sextet had an amazing 2005, celebrating the success of their latest album, Chimaira. Chimaira - Chimaira Chimaira is a six-membered band from Cleveland, Ohio. Its members describe the band as being of "The new wave of American Heavy metal" and are firmly in the post-thrash metalcore slot in their music style.

Chimaira eventually welcomed Ricky Evensand as its new drummer. Evensand, hailing from Sweden, was probably most notable for being a part of Soilwork for a short time. Evensand's stay in Chimaira was relatively short-lived. Due to visa problems and his temperamental nature, Evensand eventually left the band. Going on advice from Slayer guitarist Kerry King, Hunter contacted Kevin Talley, an experienced death metal drummer who had previously been in the bands Dying Fetus and Misery Index. With Talley on board, the band finished their remaining tour dates before returning home for some downtime.
Sorry, this content requires Flash 9 Ohio-based rock band Chimaira may be leading the new wave of American heavy metal, and by shying away from current metal trends and embracing change they appear to be off to a good start. Their latest project, Resurrection (due out on Ferret Records in March) is said to be their darkest yet. Lyrics trace three themes – rejection, revenge, and repercussion, and the prevalent guitar solos are representative of the band’s current motivations. All in favor of an ‘80s revival? Chimaira will be playing at the Dome Theatre on Sunday night (Feb 25) along with Killswitch Engage, Dragonforce, and He Is Legend. Doors open at 6:30pm.

Chimaira Guitarists: 'We're A Well-Oiled Machine Now' Chimaira knew what it was doing when selecting the title “Resurrection” for its current release. Going into the making of Resurrection, the Cleveland band had to discard the “[D]ark period” that plagued its previous release, a self-titled CD that resulted in a separation with Roadrunner Records and lackluster sales. After parting ways with Roadrunner, hooking up with Ferret Records, and trying out a new collaborative songwriting style, Chimaira got the shot in the arm it needed to keep going.
Chimaira has been rocking the faces off of their fans for quite a few years, first on Roadrunner and now on Ferret Music. It seems as if Ferret really has made their average band much more hard and heavy than they have been in years past, and this is a good sign for the label. Chimaira start off this album with the title track to the disc, and while the song is not anything but heavy, it sets the stage nicely. What is perhaps the best thing about Chimaira is their ability to insert harmony into what is a heavy track.
