Child Molesters: Children
built 180 days ago
Molesters engage in sex with children for a variety of reasons and sometimes these reasons have little to do with sexual desires. This type of offender, called a situational child molester, does not possess a genuine sexual preference for children. Rather, the motivational factors are criminal in nature. In some cases, the offender’s sexual abuse of young people is a natural outgrowth of other forms of abuse in his life. That abuse is a continuation of a process by which he has mistreated his friends, colleagues, spouse and family members. He will have low self-esteem, maintain poor moral standards and view sex with children as an opportunity to prolong the violence that is already an active component of his existence.

Child molesters often display deviant attitudes and problems in social functioning. For example, it is not uncommon for child molesters to chronically feel lonely and rejected, to prefer friendships with children than with adults, and to believe that children are not harmed by sexual contact with adults. There has been little research... examining whether such characteristics are associated with the risk of sexual recidivism.

Some child molesters are pedophiles. A pedophile is a person who has a sexual preference for prepubescent children and fantasies about having sex with them. But if he or she does not act on these fantasies, then he or she is not a child molester. To complicate matters, not all child molesters are pedophiles. People who prefer to have sex with adults may force themselves on a child. Reasons for this may include simple availability, opportunity, curiosity, or a desire to hurt a loved one of the molested child.

There seems to be some characteristics that are shared by many child molesters. According to Smiljanich and Brier (1996) child molesters often display higher levels of sexual impulsivity, sexual conflict, and low self-esteem. One theory pertaining to abusers higher levels of conflict and impulsivity is that men are socialized to be more sexually aggressive than women and seek partners who are weaker, smaller, and less powerful than themselves. (For the sake of this example I am dealing only with men because there is such a low occurrence of women sex offenders.) Smiljanich and Brier (1996) ... thought that molesters might tend to be more sexually impulsive and conflicted because molesters had low empathy levels and were more willing to act upon internal need. This impulsivity and conflictedness tends to put some males at higher risk for directing their sexual interests toward children.
Although virtually all pedophiles are child molesters, not all child molesters are pedophiles. Pedophiles have a clear sexual attraction for children. The focus of a pedophile is a child or children generally under the age of 13. Pedophiles often report they are attracted to children in a particular age range (DSM-IV). Child molesters are sexual offenders who have committed either intra-familial sexual offense (incest) against a child victim or extra-familial sexual offenses against a child victim or both.

[A]ccording to one ex-teacher) at the Gita Nagari farm (a Pennsylvania project under the supervision of the alleged guru "Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami") every single child that he sent to the Vrindavana (India) school was molested. Later, a molested child from Vrindavana came back to Gita Nagari and he molested many of the children there. Other Gita Nagari related molestations were reported as well. Yet, before Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami ordered his zone's children to go to Vrindavana, he first of all had to "purify" the school there. Thus, he personally assisted in the permanent banishment of the good (non-molester) teachers in Vrindavana, who had been personally installed there by Srila Prabhupada himself. Then he helped, with dogmatic writing and preaching, to establish his homosexual molester "guru brothers" as the "pure and perfect" gurus for the Vrindavana school.
