Chevrolet Equinox: Vehicles
built 640 days ago
The Chevrolet Equinox was a pleasantly surprising vehicle that Chevy created to replace the Tracker in the midsize CUV category. The look is futuristic and smooth with soft lines, but still sports some aggressive features. It is a crossover utility vehicle, so it has a nice mix of more car-like and practical qualities.
2004 Acura MDX The new five-passenger sport-utility vehicle, the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox is a well proportioned, stylish truck that fits in well with the idea of a smaller SUV. Although the new Equinox is a smaller SUV with an overall length of 187.3 inches, it sports passenger and cargo capacity that rivals some of the larger sport utes. With a fold down front passenger seat and a split-folding rear seta, the Equinox allows for extra long cargo storage completely within the vehicle. Another feature that adds to the versatility of the new 2005 Chevrolet Equinox is its height-adjusting cargo shelf thatcan be used as a temporary desk or a luggage privacy screen.
The majority of test drivers of the 2008 Chevrolet Equinox feel that the engine in the SUV performs quite well, though there is general agreement that the steering and handling are not on par with the best vehicles in its class. continue
2007 Chevrolet Equinox In 2004, Chevrolet introduced the Equinox to replace the mini SUV known as the Tracker. The Chevrolet Equinox was promoted as an entry level, mid sized crossover SUV, adequately filling the gap between a full size sport utility vehicle and a passenger sedan. Incorporating a sleek aerodynamic design, Equinox was a knockout to look at from the very beginning.

2008 Chevrolet Equinox Sport In 2008, Chevrolet will add a Sport model of the Equinox that features lowered ride height and the new 3.6 DOHC V6. The larger, more powerful engine allows the Equinox to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under seven seconds and increases horsepower over 40% (raising it to 264). The Sport model will showcase a slightly different exterior styling, 18 inch wheels and a six speed transmission. It will be available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations[1]. GM has stated the Equinox Sport was the first vehicle to reflect its more cautious naming standards. Instead of using the Super Sport badge as it had in the past on higher performance vehicles (such as this one), GM has opted to reserve the SS nomenclature for special models worthy of its namesake[2].
Although it resembles a small SUV, Chevrolet calls the Equinox a crossover vehicle -- the first in the automaker's lineup. The growing appeal of vehicles like the Equinox lies in the fact that they offer sedan-like handling, ride, and safety features with SUV-like space and towing capability. Chevy makes a point of noting that the Equinox has more space behind the rear seat than the Honda CRV or the Ford Escape, yet the vehicle ... excels in front and side-impact crash tests, adding to its appeal as a functional and stylish family vehicle.
