1. The Cheerleaders
   [One] predominant theme from The Cheerleaders is acceptance. Or more specifically, acceptance in a male-dominated society. At several points throughout the film, Jeannie confesses to her friends that she has never “made it.” Now, it’s be easy to confuse “making it” with fornication. When Jeannie complains of never having made it... what she means is that she has yet to “make it” in the real world; to carve her niche. Jeannie has always lived her life under the heavy thumb of Mr. Davis, her father. Her acceptance on the cheerleading squad (much to Mr. Davis’ dismay) opens the door to a vast world – both in the figurative and literal sense – of opportunity.
2. The Cheerleaders -- Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
   WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The USO will deploy the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on their 59th USO tour to entertain troops in Korea Dec. 15-26. This tour ... marks their 26th Christmas visit to the men and women of America's military serving in Korea. Once there, the troupe will visit as many service members as possible, then perform their 90-minute revue-style show.For 35 years, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have been internationally recognized entertainers, featured in movies, television and special events around the globe. These women also have committed themselves to entertaining America's armed forces. In 1979, the U.S. Department of Defense requested their presence on a USO tour to Korea. Since then, the squad has gone on more USO tours than any other entertainment group.
3. The Cheerleaders -- Swinging Cheerleaders
   Essentially a frosh/soph sex comedy, The Swinging Cheerleaders (1974) represents outsider director Jack Hill at the market top of his powers. After inventing his style in the 1960s with freaky first flick Spider Baby (1964) and Pit Stop (1967), Jack got his mojo working full time writing and directing The Big Doll House in 1970, The Big Bird Cage in 1971, Coffey in 1972, and Foxy Brown in 1973. The Man was on a roll, and with The Swinging Cheerleaders -- a sexy, yet strangely dark university days comedy/drama -- Jack rolled a lot of coin into his pocket. and the run was over. By the end of the 70s Jack had retired to a life of yogic contemplation.
4. The Cheerleaders -- School
   The next day, the school janitor, Billy (Jack Kruschen) cleans up the mess of Baker's revenge, but ... has quite the fixation on the cheerleaders. Being the member of "some crazy Devil cult," he also has been promised by the "High Priest" of his group one of the cheerleaders for his sexual gratification. So, after peeking in on them through a grate in the shower room, he waits for them to leave and then casts a small spell over their clothes -- rubbing his eyeball pentacle necklace while chanting "Audi Precas Maeya, Satana Blessed Be" over them. Stevie and two of the other football players discover him in the locker room and denounce him as a "prevert," warning him to stay away from the girls. But "Billy Boy" is tenacious and will not rest until he has his way with his favorite cheerleader: Patti. At this point, he has laid the groundwork for his ultimate plans of seduction.
5. The Cheerleaders -- Sports
   Cindy Villarreal-Hughes is the accomplished author of "The Cheerleader's Guide to Life," and is honored in the College Football Hall of Fame for her ongoing encouragement and dedicated outreach for today's youth in America. Prior to starting Proformance, Villarreal-Hughes worked in the NFL as the Director of Entertainment for Houston Oilers Entertainment, Director of Entertainment for NFL Europe's London Monarchs and as the NFL Europe's Director of Entertainment of the 1997 American Bowl game in Dublin, Ireland. "Cheerleading means so much to major sports, and is widely accepted around the world. The timing is ripe for a Hall of Fame," says Villarreal-Hughes.
6. The Cheerleaders -- Uniforms
   The Eagles Cheerleaders perform for thousands of fans at Eagles games and travel internationally to visit military troops stationed overseas. They wear uniforms designed by the famed Vera Wang and are featured in national television shows and magazines including Maxim, FHM and Muscle and Fitness. They model in the highly publicized Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders Lingerie Calendar/DVD and they can appear at your next event!
7. The Cheerleaders -- Teams
   The Cheerleaders is not exactly the kind of movie one watches for a lot of plot. Young Jeannie (Stephanie Fondue) is an ugly duckling who joins the cheerleading squad in the desperate hopes of losing her virginity. Team captain Claudia (Denise Dillaway) makes a bet that she can keep her new charge from "making it" for the entire season. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad carries on exuberant sex in all sorts of teen fantasy settings, from the car wash to the drive-in. When it comes time for the big game, the cheerleaders face their greatest challenge of all: can they…err, sap the strength of the opposing team and chalk up the big one for good old Amoroso High?
8. The Cheerleaders -- Squad
   Often called "America's Sweethearts," the Cheerleaders recently visited troops recuperating from injuries at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center. In March, service members in Germany, Belgium, England and Iceland were treated to shows by the Cheerleaders. Last December, the group spent their 25th Christmas with troops in Korea. They ... participated on the USO's first tour to Iraq in 2003. The squad has entertained troops stationed all over the world, including Kosovo, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Bosnia, Italy and Hungary. In 1991, the Cheerleaders were presented with the USO's 50th anniversary award, and, in 1997, the USO recognized their dedication with its most prestigious honor, the "Spirit of Hope" Award.
9. The Cheerleaders -- Women
   "The rich legacy of Cheerleading has been over 100 years in the making," said Najja Conway, PSME director of business development. "Cheerleaders throughout our history will get their official Hall of Fame to honor the great men and women who dragged their fans kicking and screaming on to a victory." The CHOF will be a tribute to the victorious American spirit whose legacy will include many presidents, senators, movie stars, famous industrialists, and otherwise super achievers whose bold spirit made America the great place it is today not only for the cheerleaders but for Americans. It will ... include those considered milestone achievers, multi-skilled athletes, and trendsetters within the industry. The consortium, to be made up of a cross-section of industry experts, will induct the inaugural class of Hall of Famers. Possible Hall of Fame locations include: Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, California and the Orlando area.The concept for a Cheerleading Hall of Fame belongs to Villarreal-Hughes who spent much of her life in the cheerleading field.
