Charlie Drake was no stranger to accidents, but his narrowest escape was in the first of a new series entitled Bingo Madness. The plot called for Drake to be hurled through a bookcase by two villains, feign unconsciousness, fall to the floor and then be picked up and thrown out of a window.
Charlie Drake was a highly successful comedian on tv in the 1960s who gave it all up in later years to concentrate on more serious roles. He ... recorded a number of classic comic songs of which this is one.

Charlie Drake made most of his money in the autumn of his career in seaside shows and pantomimes. His luck held until the Christmas of 1974, when he was starring in Jack and the Beanstalk at Bradford. As a publicity stunt, he auditioned local girls for one of the parts and Sue Moody, a 22-year-old housewife, was chosen. Three days before the show opened, Equity phoned to say that as Moody was not a member she must leave the theatre at once. Drake would not remove her and was fined £760, which he refused to pay. Equity temporarily banned him from working in provincial theatres.

Ernest Wright (Charlie Drake), an honest East End locksmith that cannot resist the challenge of a lock, is tricked by debonair confidence man Grantley (Grantley) into opening a locked car and a safe. Later he gets tricked again by a damsel in distress, in his innocence, and this time gets three years in jail. In prison he picks locks easily to get seed for a fellow prisoner's budgerigars, and as a result of his exploits, two rival gangs, the Guv'nor (George Sanders) and American crook Domino (Eddie Byrne), seek his services and finally agree to employ him jointly. The two rival gangs plan to steal the Stamford Collection of Fine Gems from the Prince Edward Museum, but Drake and an undercover policewoman trip up the crooks and bring them to justice.

Charlie Drake and Frank Skinner get 4 votes and are out.  Mike Atherton and Kevin Costner both get 2 votes, but Atherton is the "stronger link", so Costner goes out. If Costner had scored 2 votes, then the tie couldn't have been broken so both would have gone out.
