Roger Rabbit (voiced by Charles Fleischer, Dick Tracy) is a major Maroon Cartoon star whose career is hitting the skids. He finds out that his wife, the delectable Jessica Rabbit (voiced by Kathleen Turner, Body Heat), is playing pattycake with Marvin Acme, the man behind all the exploding Acme gags found in all the Looney Tunes cartoons. When Acme is found murdered, Roger is framed and named the prime suspect.

Charles Fleischer has garnered more fame for a role in which he was heard but not seen rather than for his often manic comedy and comedy-with-music acts. While such performances have made him a favorite of other comedians, they did not gain him top-rung status with the general public. But audiences loved him as the voice of the animated Roger Rabbit, the frenetic movie star Fleischer inhabited for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988) and several subsequent cartoon shorts. He ... did other voices for the films, including Benny The Cab and the two sinister weasels, Greasy and Psycho. Additionally, Fleischer has provided voices for other animated films and TV programs as well.

Of the family-friendly extras, the ten-minute featurette Who Made Roger Rabbit, hosted by Charles Fleischer, offers a broadly accessible, pleasantly produced basic overview of the production. It's a droll but rather dated promo piece that will appeal most to pre-teens. Trouble in Toontown is a time-consuming game that will ... appeal only to the very young. The highlight of this disc is easily the inclusion of the three Roger Rabbit Shorts produced to accompany major theatrical Disney releases after the main feature's success. All three offer sprightly, over-the-top fun in the best Chuck Jones tradition, and are presented in handsom anamorphic video with Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks that are far more impressive and dynamic than the main feature's audio mix.

Charles Fleischer was best known as a stand-up comic when he got the role of Roger Rabbit. That stacatto stutter "P-p-puh-puh-leeeease!" is instantly recognizable as Roger. Charles is working these days as a part-owner of a multi-media company in Southern California and as a writer for TV and movies.
