I feel most deeply that this whole question of Creation is too profound for human intellect. A dog might as well speculate on the mind of Newton! Let each man hope and believe what he can. Charles Robert Darwin (1809-02-12 – 1882-04-19) was a British naturalist who achieved lasting fame by convincing the scientific community of the occurrence of evolution and proposing the theory that this could be explained through natural and sexual selection. This theory is now considered an integral component of biological science.
The English naturalist Charles Robert Darwin (1809-1882) discovered that natural selection was the agent for the transmutation of organisms during evolution, as did Alfred Russel Wallace independently. Darwin presented his theory in Origin of Species....

uncle-charles-small.gif Most rational people would agree that Charles Darwin was one of the greatest naturalist of all times. He went on his Beagle world tour where he observed natural history, geology, and collected large amounts of biological specimens. Although this voyage only lasted for a relativelly short period of his life (5 years), his keen interested in all aspects of natural history permeated his life. He was an amazingly prolific author. Although the majority of his publications are on various aspects of the natural history of diverse organisms his magnum opus, the theory of evolution, is ultimately... a theoretical masterpiece. Although it is solidly rooted in Darwin’s natural history observations he was obviously never able to actually “see” evolution in progress and he was also lacking an adequate theory for the basis and inheritance of phenotypic traits (perhaps he could have had if he would have read Mendel’s contemporary work).

[One] typical description of Darwin comes from a noted Encyclopedia article: "The most important figure in the history of the theory of evolution, and one of the most important in the history of Human culture was Charles Darwin." (5)
This article tells you alot about Charles Darwin the man. But what about his ideas? Does his theory of evolution stand the test of time? When The Origin of Species was published, Darwin made various predications about evidence that would be found to support or utterly disprove his theory. The evidence is in—and what does it reveal? Darwin, Charles: The 19th-century naturalist considered the father of evolution. His landmark work, On the Origin of Species, published in 1859, presented a wealth of facts supporting the idea of evolution and proposed a viable theory for how evolution occurs -- via the mechanism Darwin called "natural selection." In addition to his prolific work in biology, Darwin ... published important works on coral reefs and on the geology of the Andes, and a popular travelogue of his five-year voyage aboard HMS Beagle.
