Chaos Theory
built 655 days ago
In mathematics and physics, Chaos Theory is the study of events that look like they are random, but actually have a hidden order or way of acting. All it would take is something new to come into the system or pattern, and almost everything changes. Since Chaos Theory is just a theory, this means that scientists use it as a possible way of explaining why some things that are beyond human control act the way they do; it is very hard for them to prove everything, or for them to answer every question they can imagine using just Chaos Theory on its own.
Chaos Theory In Gary Krist's Chaos Theory, two college-bound high school students watch an evening on the town turn into the nightmare of a lifetime. Jason Rourke and Dennis Monroe are smart and respectable boys from a suburban Washington D.C. neighborhood. Jason is white and Dennis is black, and their occasional discomfort over racial identity sometimes leads them to a bit of posing. One Sunday night, Dennis, pretending an urban sophistication, convinces Jason that they should head to the seedy side of D.C. to score some marijuana. Their black Audi is an easy target for the dealer, who attempts to reach into the car and grab the boys. They flee the scene, dragging the man behind the car for a moment before his arm snaps, shots are fired, and he falls into the road.

An employment advertisement for the Chaos Theory. During a flight to the Rim, the Chaos Theory is ambushed by a heavily armed Shark Corvette, owned by Garren Harold. They attempt to escape, but the Shark is too fast and heavily armed, and the Theory is boarded.
Integration of chaos theory in psychology and music therapy, though a complex process, has the potential to be developed into an effective treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Treatment for PTSD is a long-term therapy and there have been no substantial breakthroughs in its treatment since it has been recognized as a disorder. For this reason, the incorporation of chaos theory in psychology and music therapy for treatment of PTSD is a concept that is worthy of serious consideration. This paper examined evidence that supports the need for such deliberation. Suggestions regarding the integration of Music therapy and chaos theory in the treatment of PTSD are considered. Use of these ideas, incorporating them as a holistic therapy, and starting an effective healing process can have a genuine potential to be within reach for PTSD clients.
The California Research Bureau, with funding from the California Emergency Medical Services Authority, convened an invitational conference on May 18-19,1995, to determine what management lessons chaos theory might offer disaster managers. On the first day of the conference commissioned papers were presented by: Louise Comfort, University of Pittsburgh; Victoria Koehler-Jones, University of Nevada; Douglas Kiel, University of Texas; Richard Priesmeyer, St. Marys University; and Gus Koehler, California Research Bureau. Their papers are reproduced here. Tom Drabek, University of Denver, a leading expert on the sociology of disasters, provided the opening address. The second day was devoted to a workshop where participants and presenters discussed the practical implications of chaos theory for disaster management. This paper draws together the major points raised in the papers and important insights that emerged during the second day.
