Chad Chaffin began the 2006 season with the #92 team... after two races he was moved to the #34 team. Chad Blount would then take over the car until Talladega where FRM decided the team shut down the #92 operation. The team just made one of the eight races it attempted and cited lack of performance as a reason for the team's shut down. It returned briefly at Watkins Glen with Johnny Miller driving, but he failed to qualify.
Chad Chaffin needs to bounce back in 2001, when he will compete in a full season of races in Team Rensi Motorsports' No. 25 Chevrolets. Chaffin, who has less than 40 career starts in the Busch Series, started 18 races with a season best finish of 11th at Richmond in the spring.
Chaffin hopes to stay in #92 in 2006: Chad Chaffin will attempt to make his third Nextel Cup race in four qualifying attempts today. "We've done a lot better than anybody expected," said Chaffin, who was released from two rides in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season. The Cup team Chaffin drives for is #92-Front Row Motorsports, a low-budget operation in Denver, NC. "They don't have a lot of resources but they really put a lot of effort into it," Chaffin said. "Just to qualify for a Cup race these days is a big deal, and we've made three of four so far." Chaffin said there is a chance he could drive for the team full-time next year.

Dover , DELEWARE June 4, 2004 – Chad Chaffin literally stole the show at Dover International Speedway on Friday afternoon. An untimely caution fell just after the leaders pitted with less than 50 laps to go, leaving the door open for numerous trucks not in the running in most of the race. The caution after green flag stops, put most of the leaders at least one lap down to five other trucks.

"We have a chance to really show improvement this coming year and Chad (Chaffin) will be a big part of that," Key ended. He is counting on improved performances to help lure sponsorship for his team that will enter the Daytona opener and all subsequent races with a clean race truck.
