Seizures: Seizure disorders are common in people with cerebral palsy. These are usually well controlled with medication. A specialist in conditions of the nervous system (neurologist) may be consulted for help in selecting an appropriate regimen.
Like the rest of the community, people with cerebral palsy have a wide range of skills, qualifications and experience. Some have abilities at work entry level, whilst many have tertiary qualifications such as TAFE certificates, diplomas and university degrees.
The project has trained 16 disabled volunteer interviewers to record life-story interviews with people with cerebral palsy over 50. These interviews form part of a collection at the British Library Sound Archive, which was used to produce a video and learning resource for schools.

The effects of cerebral palsy vary with each individual. In some people, cerebral palsy is barely noticeable; others will be more severely affected. No two people will be affected in the same way.
