The Celtic Knot is one of the best known motifs in Celtic art & folklore. The twists and turns of the design are found in ancient stone art and tattoos, in illuminated manuscripts- in fact, just about anywhere the Celtic people have traveled through the centuries.

Celtic symbol of Never-ending Love, with no beginning and no end, this Celtic Knot represents infinity and everlasting love. It is believed to be able to enliven relationships, heighten passions and to attract true love, binding together two souls.
The knots were quite prevalent in the Celtic world, appearing on pottery, buildings and on the familiar Celtic crosses that dot the island. Some of the most beautiful examples turn up on ceremonial jewelry found in archaeological sites in Ireland. Some say the knots are actually a code that makes up a symbolic language, and one intrepid fellow has put forth the idea that they are actually a form of music notation. Few serious historians support either idea.
