Celtic: Years
built 278 days ago
Celtic paid £395k on a net debt figure of £6.84m... despite “debt free” promises, Rangers paid £826k interest during the period, suggesting their net debt figure was more than twice as high as Celtic’s at over £14m. It is also worth noting that £1.5m of Rangers annual income for the next 9 years was paid up front by JJB in 2006, and will not therefore bring new cash into the business.
In April 2006, Celtic's reserve and Under-19 teams ... won their championships, completing a clean sweep of Scotland's league competitions. Celtic's reserve team have now won their league 5 years in a row and the Under-19 have won their league 4 years in a row.
Richard Dunne’s name has resurfaced as a Celtic target because his talks with Manchester City about a contract extension have stalled. He wants his contract to be on par with that of young stud and fellow center half Micah Richards, which is only fair considering the Irishman’s awesome displays of late and the fact he’s been the club’s Player of the Year for three seasons running.
Broedel explains that the association of fear with Halloween evolved from the legendary Celtic belief that once a year the deceased were permitted to returned to earth. He says, "The reason that Halloween is spooky is that in Celtic tradition the dead are allowed to come back to earth on New Years Day. As in Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the ghosts love coming for special holidays... most Halloween traditions are Christian." Broedel explains that trick-or-treating emerged from the practice of collecting alms for the poor " in order to save your soul."

When you talk Celtic-Barca, you inevitably think of one man, Henrik Larsson. The centerpiece of many a Celtic championship run and a key cog in Barca’s 2006 European Champions, its understandable that he feels a bit conflicted over this matchup. He thinks the best place for clubs of this stature to meet is the Champs League final, and he’s just hoping tomorrow nite produces some quality football. I’m with The King on the latter, as for the former, well…maybe next year.
