U.S. Cellular has added walkie-talkie service to its wireless phone service offerings, joining Omaha-market rivals Alltel, Nextel, Qwest, Sprint and Verizon. Chicago-based U.S. Cellular launched the service, which it calls SpeedTalk, across its 25-state network last week. Like the other walkie-talkie services, U.S. Cellular allows a user to choose the person or group of people he wants to talk to from a menu on the handset.
