Celebrity today announced yet another expansion of its small-ship offshoot, Celebrity Expeditions. The two-year-old line-within-a-line, which offers more intimate and exotic voyages than its big-ship parent, will get a third ship next year and add more than half a dozen itineraries from South America to Antarctica.

Upgrades of treatment systems are being done on all of the Celebrity Cruises ships, said Michael Sheehan, a spokesman for the cruise line. They should be completed next year and will make the water so clean it's nearly drinkable, he said.
