The Kansas-born Peterson has directly added to the pile. She has just released her second wave of two-disc, double-feature DVDs under her own banner, Elvira's Movie Macabre. There are three releases in the new wave. One packages Blue Sunshine with Monstroid; another has Maneater of Hyra with The House That Screamed; the third has Gamera, Super Monster with They Came From Beyond Space.

Born in Manhattan, Kansas, Peterson grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from General William J. Palmer High School in 1969. Days after graduating, she drove to Las Vegas, Nevada where she became a showgirl at The Dunes. The Guinness Book of World Records cited her as the youngest showgirl in Las Vegas history. She had a small role as a showgirl in the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever, briefly dated Elvis Presley, played a topless dancer in Working Girls (1973), and posed (again as a stripper) for the cover of Tom Waits' 1976 album, Small Change.[1]

Cassandra Peterson has done such a great job at playing her sexy-spooky alter ego, "Elvira," it's a little difficult picturing her as anything or anyone else. After all, she's been at it for over 20 years. But Cassandra is ... a wife -- to Mark Pierson, who manages her career and produces her movies -- and the mother of their daughter, Sadie, 8. To the rest of the world, though, she's "Elvira."

Good idea, Cassandra Peterson is pretty much just being held together with spackle and rubber cement at this point...think Goldie Hawn at the end of Death Becomes Her. Actually, think Goldie Hawn in real life in 2007!
