The Case Medical Center is the home for the Center for AIDS Research, the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, and an HIV/AIDS research collaborative with Makerere University in the African nation of Uganda. On May 18, the campus community is invited to show support for HIV vaccine research by wearing AIDS ribbons upside down to symbolize a “V” for vaccines. The S&P/Case-Shiller(R) Home Price Indices are published on the last Tuesday of each month at 9:00 am ET. They are constructed to accurately track the price path of typical single-family homes located in each metropolitan area provided. Each index combines matched price pairs for thousands of individual houses from the available universe of arms-length sales data. The S&P/Case-Shiller(R) National U.S. Home Price Index tracks the value of single- family housing within the United States. The index is a composite of single- family home price indices for the nine U.S. Census divisions and is calculated quarterly. The S&P/Case-Shiller(R) Composite of 10 Home Price Index is a value-weighted average of the 10 original metro area indices. The S&P/Case- Shiller(R) Composite of 20 Home Price Index is a value-weighted average of the 20 metro area indices.

The Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University has announced two inaugural winners of its new Nonprofit Innovation Award. Honorees are the Cleveland Foodbank and the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland. David A. Limin joined Case in Spring 2004. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University in 2003. He was a member of the Network Systems Group. He got his B.S. degree of Computer Science from Peking University in 1997. His general research interests lie in the broad area of computer networks and systems.

The goal of reference service at Case is to provide quality service to all members of the Case community in fulfillment of their educational and research needs. The Case Art Studio “Spring Semester in Review” student art exhibition will have an opening reception today from 5-7:30 p.m. in the gallery on 2215 Adelbert Road. The exhibition will feature art works in ceramics, textiles, painting, drawing, enamel, jewelry, photography, and architectural plans made by students enrolled in the spring semester art studio classes. The exhibit will continue through May 5.
