In 2006, following the acquisitions of Cascadia and Englewood, the Company initiated projects to consolidate and standardize its business systems and processes including its log, lumber, payroll and general ledger accounting systems. This process was largely completed with respect to the log and payroll systems during 2006. The new general ledger accounting system was implemented on January 1, 2007 and replaces three general ledger systems previously used by the Company. In addition to the new general ledger system the Company implemented a new accounting policy with respect to the costing of its inventories and a new chart of accounts covering all of its operations. These system implementations have been accompanied by new processes and procedures. The process is ongoing with respect to the new lumber systems.

Cascadia lies 12 miles southeast of Tacoma and 18 miles from Sea-Tac International Airport in Bonney Lake, Pierce County. Cascadia was further defined in a more continentalist way by Joel Garreau, whose book The Nine Nations of North America saw the region's common traits as based in market and lifestyle. The idea seemed to take on more concreteness in the early 1990s, when the region's leaders even formed PNWER. That is not unlike some international regional blocs, such as APEC, except that it exists within a continent.
