The Carnival of Carnage creates an unprecedented level of fear. Universal Orlando is creating more haunted houses, more Halloween-themed shows -- and adding more event nights -- than ever before. And, of course, every carnival needs a clown. And when it comes to clowns, there is only one that is maniacal and twisted enough to be Ringmaster for the Carnival of Carnage. That would be Jack.

The annual Carnival steel pan competition known as the National Panorama competition is held in the weeks preceding Carnival with the finals held on the Saturday before the main event. Pan players compete in various categories such as "Conventional Steel band" or "Single Pan" by performing renditions of the current year's calypsos. Preliminary judging of this event for "Conventional Steel Bands" has been recently moved to the individual pan yards where steel bands practice their selections for the competition.

The Köln carnival involves hundreds of street and pub-parties, where you come in costume. Many special fund-raising events are held in large halls. Your costume planned for Carnaval Monday can be unique or a group activity for on Rosenmontag you'll stand out for lack of a costume.

The Stand Up For Skateparks benefit, which takes place in Beverly Hills, CA on Sunday, October 23, will be a family carnival of games and activities with celebrity guests and live and silent auctions. Last year's event raised $500,000 for the Foundation which awards grants to communities across the U.S. who have demonstrated a strong grassroots commitment to building a public skatepark. By seeking the involvement of the youths, politicians, business leaders and civic groups in each community, the Foundation seeks to foster an environment of cooperation that demonstrates to youths the opportunities afforded by hard work and determination.
