What's Her Story: Carla was born in Sarasota, Florida. She moved with her mother to Paradise, California when Carla was just five years old. During her childhood they moved many times within the state. A major modeling agency discovered Carla in San Diego and sent her to New York to begin a new career when she was 15. But she discovered that it was too much to handle for her being in New York. So she returned to LA, moving in with her aunt, Carol Merril (known from The Price is Right).

Carla was born in Florida, but has lived in California for most of her life. She moved away from home at 15, and to New York after being discovered by a modeling agency. Life there was not what she wanted so she returned to California, but instead of going home to her parents' house in La Jolla (just north of San Diego), moved in with her aunt in Los Angeles and took acting lessons. Carla loved acting so much she persuaded her parents to let her stay in L.A., and at 16 she won a part in her first movie, "Troop Beverly Hills." She has been able to support herself through acting ever since.

Gugino's story is a familiar tale of determined dreams and making it big in Hollywood. At age 15, she went to New York to pursue a modeling career, but found it too demanding at such a young age. She moved back to L.A. in the summer and enrolled in acting school upon the advice of her aunt Carol Merrill, the famed hostess of Let’s Make A Deal. Emancipated from her parents, she soon guest starred on such mid-80s shows as ALF, Falcon Crest, Who's the Boss? and Webster before making her film debut as one of the spoiled members of Troop Beverly Hills.

Sexy film stars CARLA GUGINO, VANESSA WILLIAMS and R+B singer CASSIE have stripped for a sexy new photospread in women's magazine Allure. The trio joined Marley Shelton and Kristin Chenoweth for the 'What Lies Beneath' special, which appears in the May (07) issue of the glossy publication. Shelton admits she only agreed to pose naked, sitting on a tree stump, after pal Gugino bared all for the spread first. And Gugino reveals her boyfriend was thrilled when she told him the spread would feature her and Shelton: "He wrote back, 'I'm hyperventilating.'"
