(AP Photo/Glenn Smith) After a misstep in 2006, Edwards came back last year and proved his near-championship season of 2005 wasn't a fluke. He earned three victories in 2007, made the Chase and had three top-5s in the last six events with Bob Osborne back as his crew chief.
Going into the event, Edwards was leading David Reutimann by 776 points. He finished 2nd and Reutimann finished 8th in this event. Edwards now leads Reutimann by 809 points after the 18th race of the season.
Running a full slate in both the Cup and Busch series, Edwards celebrated every victory with a backflip off the door of his car. Edwards "flipped out" nine times in his busy 2005 season and finished third in the final point standings in both series.

(AP Photo/Wade Payne) Edwards passed Kasey Kahne for the lead with 166 laps to go and wasn't challenged the rest of the way as he drove to his second victory of the season. He beat Kahne to the line by 1.405 seconds, then did his trademark backflip on the finish line to celebrate.
[I]f Harvick had decided to run the whole season right now, he'd likely be neck-and-neck with Edwards. The defending series champion has started six of the first eight races on the Busch tilt and is third in the standings, 432 points behind Edwards (Harvick finished 11th Saturday).
