In his 100th Cup career start, Edwards held off a charge by #1-Martin Truex Jr. in the final laps to score his first 2007 win and 5th of his Cup career. The #99 Office Depot Ford driver led the most laps (63 of 200) as well. Truex Jr., #20-Tony Stewart, #25-Casey Mears and #8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounded out the rest of the top 5 in Sunday's race.
Rarely has a driver come along that represents the complete NASCAR package better than Carl Edwards. His smile lights up rooms. His "aw shucks" Midwestern attitude wins hearts in an instant. His boy next door charm appeals evenly to men, women, and corporate America. And on top of all that, the kid started winning in Nextel Cup early and often.

Carl without doubt brought that on himself. But that his public persona has now been described as just that, a phony show for the cameras, isn’t fair. In his first couple of years in Cup racing, Edwards has been highly entertaining. His perpetual smile, his enthusiasm, and of course, the backflips, brought a fresh new personality to the sport.
Edwards’ #99 Office Depot Ford ran a fast lap of 117.819 mph in the final Cup practice. #31-Jeff Burton, #29-Kevin Harvick, #11-Denny Hamlin and #9-Kasey Kahne (the pole-sitter) rounded out the top 5 on the speed chart of the 43 cars on the track. #44-Dale Jarrett was the slowest car during this practice.
Edwards’ #99 Office Depot Ford ran a fast lap of 191.034 mph in the final Cup practice. #34-John Andretti, #45-Kyle Petty, #7-Robby Gordon and #16-Greg Biffle rounded out the top 5 on the speed chart. #87-Kenny Wallace (186.590 mph) was the slowest car during this practice.
