Edwards started the #99 Office Depot Ford 16th in the lineup and was running in the top five at the final green-white-checker restart. He finished 2nd and moved up one spot to 4th in the standings, 261 points behind leader Jeff Gordon.

Edwards told reporters tire blistering appeared to be an issue with the new race car on Tuesday at Daytona. Edwards said his Ford experienced blistering with its right front Goodyear tire, the Florida Today reports.
