Edwards has ... appeared in the USAC Silver Crown Series, but really made his mark during a seven-race stretch in the Truck Series with Mittler Brothers Motorsports in 2002. He qualified 15th or better in six of those events and opened eyes with an eighth-place run at Kansas. That was enough for Roush Racing, which signed Edwards shortly before the start of the ’03 season.

Edwards put the #60 Dish Network Ford out in front of #2-Clint Bowyer with 33 laps to go and went on to win his 13th Busch Series career race. It was his second consecutive win (Dover) and made it a season Nashville sweep as well. Bowyer, #38-Jason Leffler, #29-Scott Wimmer and #4-Regan Smith rounded out the top 5 finishers in Saturday night's event. Edwards increased his lead in the 2007 NBS point standings to 662 points ahead of Kevin Harvick who did not enter this race.

Continually gaining valuable experience, he achieved his best finish of 15th place at Richmond. He continued to compete in the USAC series in 2002, making eight starts. He ... ran seven Craftsman Truck races for MB Motorsports, where he earned a top-10 finish at Kansas.
At the drop of the green flag on Saturday, Edwards will be making his 100th NASCAR Busch Series career start. He scored 13 wins, 7 poles and 64 top ten finishes since his first start in the Charter Pipeline 250 at the Gateway International Raceway on July 20, 2002. Edwards is the current leader in the NBS championship standings.
In 2007, continuing to drive for Roush in the No. 99 Office Depot Ford, Edwards concluded the Cup season in the top 10. Taking ninth place in points, Edwards finished the 2007 Cup season with three wins, 11 top-fives, 15 top-10s and one Bud pole award, earning a remarkable $4,583,673. This was in addition to winning his first NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship in his fifth year competing in the Series.

On November 3, 2007, Edwards clinched his first NASCAR Busch Series Championship by finishing 11th at the O'Reilly Challenge. This came despite struggling in the second half of the Busch Series season. Edwards became the 19th different Busch Series Champion in the 26 years of the modern-era series.
