- Crash (Movie)
You'd be forgiven for thinking that a film with the title "Crash" (Lions Gate) might just be some mindless action film. And, indeed, the first few minutes of the movie, with its somber depiction of Los Angeles at its murkiest -- with off-putting music to match -- might seem to confirm your worst fears. - Crash Tag Team Racing
The main hook of Crash Tag Team Racing is the "clashing" feature found during the racing sections of the game. The player can "clash" with another vehicle by pressing a certain button depending on the gaming platform.[4] The player's vehicle will merge with a nearby opponent's vehicle, and the player will then take control of a powerful turret weapon to shoot at other vehicles.[4] The turret can not only be used to shoot at enemy cars, but ... to take out incoming attacks.[4] - Crash (Stephenson, Neal)
Where Crash literalised the term “auto-erotic”, Cocaine Nights does the same for “guilt complex” (note that these are both psychoanalytic terms). Cocaine Nights, Ballard’s most recent novel, is something of a departure; the first half of the book reads like a fairly straightforward detective piece, with none of Ballard’s trademark tampering with space-time or individual psyches. Cocaine Nights’ plot centres on the Spanish resort of Estrella de Mar, where a housefire kills five people, and the subsequent involvement of Charles Prentice, an outsider whose brother Frank has been arrested for murder. Like Conrad’s Heart Of Darkness and indeed Crash, the book is under the spell of an alluring and quite possibly insane visionary figure. In its description if a society hellbent on leisure, Cocaine Nights follows the line of the argument set out in Carol Reed’s The Third Man, where Harry Lime compares the cuckoo clock art that came from the gentile Swiss culture with the decadent and depraved reign of the Borgias that produced da Vinci. - Crash of the Titans -- Games
In Crash of the Titans, Crash teams up with Aku Aku once again to take on Dr. Neo Cortex, his niece Nina, and Aku's evil twin, Uka Uka. The game features solid co-op play with an interesting new twist. At any point, one player can jump into the other player's backpack and get carried around as needed. This is especially helpful on those particularly hard jumping or steering areas. A less experienced player can simply hop onto the back of the more experienced player and let him manage those frustrating parts of the game. According to the Sierra demo team, this mechanism will ... be incorporated into some of the puzzle aspects of the game. - Crash (Movie) -- Los Angeles
The Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Million Dollar Baby takes the helm of his own project in Crash, an ensemble study of race relations in Los Angeles, which uses the city's daily preponderance of motor-vehicle collisions as a central metaphor. The film recalls the work of Robert Altman (Short Cuts) and Lawrence Kasdan (Grand Canyon) in its attempt to interweave different segments of the city's socioeconomic and ethnic landscape, but uses a blunter hammer stroke to drive home its points. The film's many supporters led to surprising Oscars for best picture, screenplay and editing, as well as a 55-million-dollar box-office take. While some viewers were undoubtedly drawn to the unfiltered language and uncompromising intensity with which racism is depicted, others found that the film veers into contrived territory. As the characters are more often symbolic types than fleshed-out individuals, they butt up against each other according to what will create maximum incendiary dialogue and the potential for explosive conflict. Whether it's Dillon spewing anti-affirmative-action rage, Sandra Bullock spraying racial epithets in as many directions as a lawn sprinkler, or an Iranian business owner and a Latino locksmith using their mutual preconceived notions to block off communication, most of the scenes play out at the highest possible emotional pitch, with mixed results. - Crash (2004) -- Los Angeles
Crash starts strong, with a police detective played by Don Cheadle talking to his partner about the isolating tendencies of Los Angeles. He says that in most cities you walk everywhere and are constantly brushing up against strangers, but in LA, people move around in boxes made of metal and glass and have not real contact. Because of this, people subconsciously crash into one another. The oddly meditative tone quickly devolves into a stew of chance encounters, reencounters and re-reencounters that proves utterly ridiculous. But its not just this astronomical level of chance that makes the movie suspect--and this is to say nothing of the nauseatingly redemptive round-up that makes up the third act. Nearly every character in the movie is incapable of uttering more than one sentence without diving headlong into derogatory racial diatribe. - Crash Tag Team Racing -- Races
In Crash Tag Team Racing you'll be able to fuse two cars together on the fly to form a super vehicle outfitted with a turret gun with the all-new "clashing" technology. Continue your adventures on foot with out-of-car action, allowing you to traverse an amusement park-like world where you can interact with other characters, collect items and complete mini-missions. - Crash Tag Team Racing -- Games
Developed by VU Games, Crash Tag Team Racing features a unique 'fusion' capability that allows players to equip their vehicle with a heavy weapon to clear off the road. With unlimited ammunition and enhanced speed, this should be easy! Players have access to four different vehicles, one for each of the four characters; 12 different fusion possibilities; three environments: Egypt, Castles and Pirates; two game modes: - Tournament and Single Race; as well as nine different races to complete! There is ... a 3D version of the game for next-generation handsets. - Cars
"The jump in searches on Cars.com is translating into positive sales news for manufacturers," said Cars.com managing editor Patrick Olsen. "At a time when sales were expected to be slow, the new Honda Accord, Cadillac CTS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class are all seeing increases in sales, which is crucial for their companies." - The Cars
The Cars video game is a high performance interactive experience in the open world created in the film, challenging players to relive the excitement created by Lightning McQueen and his friends. Fans will re-discover unique characters and environments inspired by the film with more than 10 playable characters and 30 races and minigames to choose from. With enhanced graphics, the Xbox 360 version features a fully immersive re-creation of all major environments that fans of the film have come to love, including Radiator Springs and Ornament Valley, which will offer distinctive racing experiences to players while maintaining the artistic style of the film.
