By 1968, the Caprice was one of the few wartime ships still in service with the Royal Navy, and one of the last "Greyhounds of the Seas" as conventional destroyers of the British Royal Navy, were once called. Finally in 1973, the Caprice, then Navy’s last remaining, serving World War II destroyer was finally taken out of commission and later broken up in November 1979 at Washer Wharf, Queenborough.

Born to show business parents, Caprice lived out of a trunk as a child. She began performing at the tender age of 5, singing with street performers, and actually started performing professionally at age 13 in various clubs. Her parents met when her father, a drummer, was playing in a band that backed up her mother, artist and famous belly dancer Princess Zobeide.

In August 2006 Caprice, defended by Nick Freeman, was banned from driving for one year and ordered to pay £2,500 costs when she was found guilty of drunk-driving. It ... emerged that she had the previous year deceived her lawyers with a forged letter reported to be written by Nancy Davies. It is claimed she used the letter to sue a newspaper who had said her future mother-in-law called her a golddigger.[8]
