Capacitor: A capacitor is an electronic device which consists of two plates (electrically conductive material) separated by an insulator. The capacitor's value (its 'capacitance') is largely determined by the total surface area of the plates and the distance between the plates (determined by the insulator's thickness). A capacitor's value is commonly referred to in microfarads, one millionth of a farad. It is expressed in micro farads because the farad is such a large amount of capacitance that it would be impractical to use in most situations.

Having recently been a feature artist on triple J Unearthed and www.mp3.com.au after just 4 months, Capacitor is going from strength to strength. Already writing new material for an EP scheduled for 2008, the band intends to spend the first half of the new year playing shows and recording. With a new name, new lineup and new CD, Capacitor is looking to make the most out of a promising comeback to the Brisbane music scene.

Capacitor uses up-to-date technology in electric power storage. It combines the advantages of conventional condenser and rechargeable battery features for optimum functionality. Capacitor utilizes physical reactions - electric charge movement of prime conductor between the poles - in charge and discharge process. The response is faster by comparison with no decline of performance with time. In fact, the life span of Capacitor is at least 100,000 cycles and it lasts for approximately 274 years.

Capacitor marking or code systems are often used to indicate the value and other parameters on a capacitor. Large capacitors are able to have their values marked on the case, but on smaller ones there is insufficient space to give the data and capacitor code systems are required. Some use a colour code, but increasingly capacitors used a figure code is used on the smaller capacitors.

With powerful live performances and a growing support base, Capacitor is emerging on the Brisbane music scene with newfound grunt. Having realeased a self titled EP in July '07, the band has been well recieved at all shows and is continuing take their music to the masses.
