As part of a wider rediscovery of the work of Cantinflas (pronounced cahn-TEEN-flas; his real name was Mario Moreno Reyes), a new play has begun to jar memories of the actor. The play, called "¡Cantinflas!" and written and performed largely by the actor Herbert Sigüenza of the Los Angeles-based comedy trio Culture Clash, opens in Los Angeles on Wednesday after playing to good crowds here.
