Calling home or calling the office when traveling is a fact of life. But why pay more than you have too? Hotels and motels long distance rates are outrageous. Cellular roaming fees are often too high. It may be that you just want to have a quality long distance connection for privacy or convenience while saving your cellular minutes for other uses. Whatever the reason, calling cards are the answer.

Calling card fraud is a frequent occurrence. Anyone using a calling card should be cautious, especially in public areas. MCI has a fraud center and will deactivate any card that has suspicious activity. The Victorian custom of leaving a 'calling card' when one paid a visit has been experiencing a rebirth on the World Wide Web. People are leaving calling cards in guest books, on bulletin boards, attached to emails, and so on! You are welcome to choose the ones you like best, and add your name, web address, or email address to them with an image editing program, like Paint Shop Pro.

Glentel Inc. has through a recent convention released their limited edition pre-paid calling card. This $5 card is a limited edition with only 1000 made. These were available through a Glennet convention in Vancouver on the 19th of October 1996. It is a very nice looking card with two people on a mountain with a starry background. LANSING, Mich., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Attorney General Mike Cox announced the donation today of $300,000 in Sprint telephone calling cards to Michigan's military and their families. The calling cards will be distributed to Marine and Army personnel serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan and to their families living here in the United States.Twenty-thousand cards will be distributed to the Army -- 10,000 cards for soldiers overseas and 10,000 cards to their families. Another 10,000 cards will be given to the Marines, which will be evenly divided between Marines and their loved ones.
