The new hotel at Agua Caliente Casino is scheduled to open in Spring, 2008 and is expected to garner a 4-star / 4-diamond rating. It will offer 340 luxuriously-appointed rooms, a 10,500 square-foot spa, 10,000 square-foot conference center, a 50,000 square-foot pool area and a 2,000 seat state-of-the-art entertainment venue.

Agua Caliente had hot springs witch were used by Indians as a therapy. In 1873 became place popular between the white peoples and they came to the place from everywhere. To protect the business owners defended the place with a dynamite, and that was the reason that spring draw out and Agua Caliente (from Spanish Hot Water) became ghost town. That what is back of Agua Caliente is the Hotel, the ruins of stone house and one swimming pool in which the hot water were collected and used by the visitors. The Hotel was built in 1897 and had 22 room and swimming pool. In parallel to Castle Hot Springs, this hotel survived.

The Caliente rail corridor would haul radioactive material from a transfer site somewhere in the state, then onto a 319 mile railway, from Caliente to the Yucca Mountain repository. The DOE says the rail line would carry up to five shipments of radioactive material every week for at least 24 years. It's too big a risk for Ruth Dewey, who was born in this area and came back here a few years ago. "We've got all these terrorists going on, the whole idea is crazy. Bringing it to Nevada, you have to go clear across the country. All of these places are unprotected.

Caliente, the repertoire ensemble for Diaz Music Institute, has become one of the finest Hispanic youth music ensembles in the country. Caliente has been featured at Hispanic Day for the Houston Astros, the Houston World Trade Gala and the Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation’s Cinco De Mayo Program. Caliente has appeared at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, the Oregon Music Educators Association Conference in Eugene, Oregon; and at the Music Educators National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The production has ... appeared at the Chocolate Bayou Festival, the Bayou City Arts Festival, the Breakfast Klub, and mostly recently Dia de la Hispanidad at the Miller Outdoor Theater in Houston, Texas. Caliente is currently in the studio recording a CD to be released this October.
