3. Central Valley -- California's Central Valley
   California's Central Valley is the most dynamic agricultural region in the world, yet farmers there are under tremendous pressure from new valley residents relocated from the coast and environmentalists to clean up their act. For decades, farmers have been exempted from clean air and clean water standards that apply to other industries. But now, the state says it is going to bring them into compliance. It's the water standards that have the farmers most worried -- farmers spray on the valley floor a third of all the pesticides sold in the nation. If they have to cut back, farmers warn that prices of tomatoes, pistachios and the 300 other crops grown in the valley will be more expensive. NPR's John McChesney reports.
4. Justin Berfield -- Jessica Simpson
   Berfield was born in Los Angeles County, California, the son of Gail and Rick Berfield. He is the younger brother of lesser-known actor Lorne Berfield. Berfield is Jewish.[4] He lives in Calabasas, California in the home previously owned by Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey during the filming of MTV's Newlyweds. Berfield is known for keeping his private life very secret, and staying out of the public's eye.

   Incubus is a five-man alternative rock band based out of Calabasas, California. Members include Brandon Boyd (vocals and percussion), Mike Einziger (guitar), Ben Kenney (bass), Jose Pasillas (drums) and DJ Kilmore (turntables). Former members of the band include DJ Lyfe (turntables) and Alex Katunich (... known as Dirk Lance) (bass).

   Rebecca and Jerry's Tender Goodbye Undercover lovers Rebecca Romijn, 32, and Jerry O'Connell, 30, just couldn't hide their feelings any longer! After a weekend spent cozying up in Calabasa, California - where the actress lives in the former brothel she converted into a home with estranged husband John Staomos, 41 - the couple of two months shared a sullen, early-morning farewell on October 24 at the Los Angeles International Airport. "He seemed so sad to see her go!" says a witness. "They looked like teenagers in a movie saying goodbye for the summer. They just couldn't stop kissing!" Alas, her cinematic career called, and O'Connell was left waving as Romijn rode the escalator to her gate.
7. Justin Berfield
   Former Malcolm In The Middle star Justin Berfield is suing a Los Angeles construction firm for turning his old home into a mold-infested wreck. The actor, who now lives in pal Jessica Simpson's former home in Calabasas, California, claims he suffered respiratory problems while living in the Studio City home. He is suing Shell Burton Construction over what he says was faulty work the company did on the home, which once belonged to George Clooney. In a lawsuit, obtained by Tmz.com, Berfield alleges he learned his former home was infested with mould when he tried to sell the house. Berfield is suing for negligence, breach of warranty and breach of contract, and is asking for damages in excess of $1 million.
