The Escalade first hit the pavement back in the fall of 1998, looking conspicuously like a GMC Yukon Denali hiding behind a Cadillac wreath-and-crest emblem. A revamped Escalade rolled out in 2002, sporting more Cadillac-inspired design cues and amenities. It is the all-new 2007 Escalade... where this luxury full-size SUV finally hits its stride. The new model shows off a streamlined, more athletic shape that not only makes it look smart, but simultaneously improves aerodynamics. With styling cues taken from the Cadillac Sixteen concept vehicle, the new Escalade sets its own tone.

Making an Escalade into a V-series Cadillac is no small task. Keep in mind that not even Cadillac has taken on such a monumental build. Cadillac has... laid out the criteria on which the Escalade's V-ness can be judged. First of all, V-series Cadillac vehicles must be capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds. All three Cadillac Vs have in excess of 400 hp. The Escalade comes equipped with a scant 345 hp and a 0-60 best of 8.4 seconds, a far cry from the 5.0 required to earn the coveted badge. Second, it must have a racetrack-tuned suspension.

The full-size luxury SUV with bite, Cadillac's Escalade probably tops the list as the luxury vehicle with the most appearances in rap videos. This popularity with young crowds delights the makers at Cadillac. Their impressive resurgence is a direct result of building models like the Escalade that appeal to wider, market-dominating demographics.

Initially, this vehicle boasts Cadillac Escalade parts that include the 5.7-liter Vortec engine, powering 255 horsepower. After three years in the market with that concept, the company decided to have it redesigned which resulted to an all-new theme, the 2002 Cadillac Escalade. At this point the vehicle now has got 5.3-liter V8 and 6.0-liter High-Output Vortec engine. In the next edition, the StabiliTrak or stability control system was upgraded, as well as power adjustable pedals. Last year, the Cadillac Escalade offered the 20 in chrome wheels or the dubs along with XM satellite radio, second-row bucket seats, and tire pressure monitoring system.
